Recently, with the official grid connection of the Sakaye photovoltaic power station, the power shortage problem in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, has been greatly alleviated. The Sakaye photovoltaic power station is located in Bimbo, about 9 kilometers west of Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic. The total installed capacity is 15MW, which can reduce 18,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year and meet the electricity needs of about 26,000 local households.

The project uses all the single-column fixed bracket series products of Baowei New Energy. The area has a tropical rainforest climate with abundant rainfall, so the design adopts a cast-in-place pile foundation, coupled with a conductive clip lightning protection and flood prevention structure, to ensure the long-term stable operation of the photovoltaic power station. In addition, Baowei's technical team optimized the structural design, shortened the construction period, saved labor costs, and won the recognition and trust of customers.

For a long time, the Central African Republic has been in turmoil, infrastructure development has been slow, and power shortages have troubled local people. According to Zhang Zhiguo, project manager of the photovoltaic power station, Bangui mainly relies on diesel and hydropower for power generation, but diesel is expensive and hydropower development is slow. The photovoltaic power station project has a short construction period, is green and environmentally friendly, and has a large installed capacity, which can immediately solve the local power shortage problem.

During the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in September 2018, China and the Central African Republic reached a consensus on the China-aided photovoltaic power station project. In April 2021, China Energy Construction, together with Baowei New Energy and other builders, went to Central Africa to start construction. With the start of construction of the project, local residents have been looking forward to the day when the project is completed and connected to the grid. After the power generation was connected to the grid in mid-June, the local power shortage was greatly alleviated.

The completion of the Sakayi photovoltaic power station has effectively promoted local economic development and is one of the important local infrastructure projects in recent years.China is a staunch supporter and important partner of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum. To date, China has implemented hundreds of clean energy and green development projects within the framework of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, supporting African countries to better leverage their solar energy advantages and help Africa achieve independent and sustainable development. In recent years, Baowei New Energy has been deeply involved in the African market and has undertaken a number of large-scale ground power station projects. In the future, Baowei will continue to improve its product competitiveness and professional service capabilities to contribute to Africa's low-carbon, green and sustainable development.
