The state of Kedah in Malaysia is the birthplace of the ancient Malay Kingdom, the "land of fish and rice" in Malaysia, and is close to the "maritime lifeline" Strait of Malacca. China Energy Construction Tianjin Electric Power Construction led the construction of the 50 MW photovoltaic power station project in Jeddah, Malaysia. The photovoltaic brackets of this project use the full steel bracket series of Baowei. On the morning of September 8, Malaysia National Television Channel 1 and Channel 2 reported on the project for 2 minutes. The technology, localized management, environmental protection, social and economic benefits of the power station have been highly recognized by all sectors of the local community.

◆◆Project Introduction◆◆

The longest road from Kuala Kiti Town in Baling County, Jeddah State, West Peninsular Malaysia to the capital Kuala Lumpur is 515 kilometers. It is planned to cover an area of 263 acres, or 1.06 million square meters, and is one of the first large-scale solar power plants in Malaysia. The ground-mounted photovoltaic power station with an installed capacity of 50 MW started construction on March 27, 2018 and officially put into commercial operation on February 25, 2019.

◆◆Construction significance◆◆

After the project is put into operation, it is expected to produce an average of 78,400 megawatts of electricity per year, enough to power an average of 30,000 households in the next 25 years, and will offset about 54,000 tons of carbon emissions per year. A 40-acre fruit plantation can be developed in the 30-meter buffer zone around the project. The park is planned to be used for growing pineapples, with an estimated harvest period of 14 months, and the total income of local residents is expected to reach US$1,166,000. This means that local residents have a sustainable and considerable income and have nearly 106 direct employment opportunities. Since the project was put into operation, it has provided clean energy for Malaysia, assisted industrial and agricultural activities in Jeddah, and brought huge economic benefits to the community.

◆◆Engineering construction◆◆

**** Environmental protection first

The project construction has zero interference with the surrounding residents, and the local government is serious about environmental protection. Indicators such as pile driving noise, mud content in rainwater drainage, and road pollution in and out of the factory meet environmental protection requirements.

No.2 Safety First

The project site is a tropical rainforest, where animals often appear. Therefore, the project staff strengthened electronic monitoring to ensure the project progress and construction safety. After 11 months, the project created a record of 250,000 man-hours of safety and no accidents in Malaysia. The project site is a tropical rainforest, where animals often appear. No.3 Quality First

This project uses Bowei DuraPower all-steel series brackets and Bowei single-column all-steel floor systems. The overall structure is designed with steel profiles, which has obvious cost advantages. Simple structural design greatly improves installation efficiency and reduces installation costs. At the same time, the hot-dip galvanized surface treatment ensures that the system can be used in harsh outdoor environments for a long time.

We firmly believe that with the successful delivery of this photovoltaic power station project, TEPC and Powerway will cooperate in wider areas and at a deeper level and make more contributions.
